Regrets of Gold: The Story of King Midas

Once upon a time, there was this king, Midas, who did a solid favor for a satyr, a nature spirit guy. Dionysus, the wine god, was so pleased that he decided to give Midas a wish.

Guess what Midas wished for? He wanted everything he touched to turn into gold. Dionysus tried to talk him out of it, but Midas was like, "Nah, this is a fantastic idea!" So, he got his golden touch.

Now, imagine Midas all hyped up about his new power, touching stuff left and right, turning everything into shiny gold. It was like magic.

But then, hunger struck. Midas grabbed a piece of food all excited to chow down, but whoopsie-daisy, it turned into gold too. He couldn't eat it!

Hungry and frustrated, Midas was like, "Wait a minute, did I mess up? This wish might not be as awesome as I thought."

Then, the sad part happened. His dear daughter came over, gave him a comforting hug, and bam! She turned into a gold statue too. Now, that hit Midas hard. He realized that this golden touch thing wasn't a blessing at all.

So, moral of the story: Be careful what you wish for, folks! Gold might seem cool, but turning everything, including your loved ones, into it? Not so great.
