Flight of the Parrot: A Story of Courage and Compassion

Once upon a time, in the land of Panchal, there lived a wise king. His reign was marked by the arrival of a special parrot, born under the shade of a shiuli tree near the riverbank. Alongside this colorful bird was his younger brother, always by his side.

On one side of the majestic mountain dwelled a band of thieves, while on the other side lay the serene village of sages. One stormy day, as dark clouds loomed overhead, the parrot flew towards the village of sages, while his brother ventured into the thieves' domain.

Deep into the forest, the king of Panchal sought adventure in the hunt. As the sun dipped low and twilight approached, he realized his companions had vanished. Weary from his quest, he sought solace beneath a towering tree. It was there that the parrot-like brother, spotting the king in distress, seized a thief by the royal robes and exclaimed, "Your Majesty, why flee?"

Frozen with surprise, the king listened as exhaustion weighed heavy upon him. The parrot-like figure continued, "Your Highness, the sages have journeyed to the Ganges, leaving no one to attend to you. Please partake of the fruits and refreshing water from this tree."

The king, taken aback by the parrot's words, followed him, intrigued by their exchange. The parrot-like figure then revealed, "Your Majesty, this parrot is my kin. Fate led him to the thieves' village during a tempest. Thus, he was compelled to adapt and survive amidst deceit and theft. As for me, I found refuge among the sages. We each follow our paths."

In the midst of adversity, the parrot and his brother illustrated the essence of duty and survival, leaving the king in awe of their resilience.
